Crypto Empire — Band Bio Some bands are formed. Crypto Empire was collided into existence. Formed in Managua, Nicaragua, this four-piece hits like classic Nickelback colliding with Alter Bridge — big riffs, bigger choruses, zero apologies. Carlos Alvarez (Drums, Nicaragua) cut his teeth in Managua's dingy rock bars, raised on Metallica and Avenged Sevenfold, hitting harder than the room could handle. Meanwhile, Jimmy MacPherson (Lead Guitar, Vancouver), Rex Dalton (Rhythm Guitar, Detroit), and Steve Harris (Bass & Vocals, Florida) were each grinding through hard rock projects across North America — three strangers who didn't yet know they were waiting for the same missing piece. In 2023, a music outreach trip brought Jimmy to Managua. One night, one club, one jam session with Carlos — and the chemistry was instant and loud enough to change plans. Jimmy called Rex and Steve. Within weeks, all four were packed into a sweltering rehearsal room in the heart of Managua. Crypto Empire was born. Their early demos caught the ear of veteran Canadian songwriter-producer Michael Behm, based in Nicaragua at the time, who heard the raw potential immediately and stepped in to co-write and produce — shaping their sound into something heavy, melodic, and built for arenas. Now tracking their debut EP between Managua and Canada, Crypto Empire fuses North American post-grunge muscle with Central American fire — proof that guitar-driven rock still has teeth. The Empire is rising.
